Theatre Coordinator

Part-time 60-70 hours per fortnight, flexible roster (10-hour shifts)

Bethesda Health Care is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Perioperative Services team in a part time Theatre Coordinator role. This position is well suited to a motivated healthcare professional seeking to broaden their experience in theatre coordination within a collaborative and patient centred environment.

While prior coordination experience is advantageous, applications are welcomed from candidates who demonstrate strong clinical capability, sound judgement, and a genuine commitment to high quality patient care and team leadership.

Reporting to the Theatre Area Manager, the Theatre Coordinator is responsible for the day to day operational coordination of Theatre, CSSD and Recovery services. The role ensures appropriate resourcing, efficient patient flow, and the delivery of safe, compassionate and high quality care.

The successful candidate will provide clear direction and support to clinical and support staff while monitoring and evaluating patient care processes to maintain Bethesda’s high standards of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible leadership and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare standards, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate daily staffing allocations, skill mix and resource requirements across Theatre, CSSD and Recovery
  • Support efficient equipment and supply management
  • Foster strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders
  • Manage administrative requirements including data entry, policy updates and operational issue resolution
  • Oversee daily roster and timesheet management for relevant staff

Essential Criteria

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated application of current best practice aligned with ACORN Standards
  • Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to evidence based practice
  • Well developed communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in a Coordinator role or advanced perioperative expertise across multiple specialties
  • Formal qualification in Management or clinical specialisation
