Bethesda Health Care is growing, with Mount Private Hospital joining our organisation from 24 September 2026.

Previously operated by Healthscope, Mount Private Hospital will be operated by Bethesda Health Care and renamed 'Bethesda Mount Hospital'.

The new hospital complements the surgical and palliative care services we offer at Bethesda Claremont Hospital.

Bethesda Mount Hospital will continue on as a leading private provider of cardiology and cardiac surgery, as well as orthopaedics, neurosurgery, vascular surgery and general surgery, supported by the State’s largest private critical care unit.

This is an exciting new chapter for Bethesda Health Care – bringing together two great hospitals, their people and their expertise, with a shared commitment to providing high-quality, personalised care to Western Australians.

The addition of Bethesda Mount Hospital builds on that history and creates new opportunities to connect expertise, services and people across two hospital locations.

Bethesda has been caring for Western Australians for more than 80 years. What began as a small 14-bed community hospital has grown into a modern healthcare organisation with a strong reputation for clinical excellence, compassionate care and putting patients at the centre of everything we do.

What Does this Mean for Patients?

While we are expanding to a second location, our commitment remains the same: to provide patients with a high-quality healthcare experience, supported by skilled people who care about what they do.

• Mount Hospital will not close and current operations and services will not be affected.
• Patients and families at the Mount in the final week of September will be notified of activities we undertake to transition the hospital from one operator to the next, for example changes in signage or system.
• Mount Hospital jobs and entitlements will be protected, so you can expect to see the same familiar faces at our appointment.
